Yorkshire Tradespeople could be missing out

Skilled individuals in the Leeds and Yorkshire area could be missing out on thousands of pounds of additional earnings, according to Protocol National, the UK’s largest provider of education services to the Further Education sector.

The organisation estimates that of the thousands of people on its database, more than 70% aren’t using the qualifications they studied for, meaning that hundreds could be passing up the opportunity to significantly boost their income.

David Beynon, Regional Manager at Protocol National, explained, “Many people across the region are qualified workplace assessors – it’s a qualification that’s often picked up as part of another course. As such, people sometimes don’t even realise its worth. However it’s very much in demand at the moment, especially in vocational subjects.”

Park Lane College is just one of the colleges in the area experiencing a high demand for workplace assessors in everything from construction to cleaning. Following a 100 percent increase in the number of students, more than 1,000 assessors are needed and this brings with it a huge earning potential.

David added, “A full-time assessor in a sought-after subject could earn up to £50,000, but there are plenty of more flexible opportunities on offer. Many people just do occasional afternoons or evenings around their main job or home life to provide a bit of extra income when necessary.”

Park Lane College has opportunities for assessors across Yorkshire. For further information, please access the Protocol National website at www.protocol-national.co.uk.
