PASSION AND ENTHUSIASM IS JUST THE JOB AT TYNE MET COLLEGE

A local Further Education college is appealing for community minded people who are passionate and enthusiastic about helping others to consider working with job seekers over the summer, as demand for employability skills courses soars.

Tyne Met College’s Employability Training courses have already attracted a great deal of interest from those who are experiencing unemployment and redundancy or who are struggling to find their first job as a result of the current economic climate. The level of demand means the courses will continue to run throughout the summer months and now more people are needed to boost the knowledge and confidence of those attending as they try to get back into employment.

Protocol National, a company that specialises in providing staff to FE colleges nationwide, is working with Tyne Met College to find individuals who can help meet this need.

Marie Graham, Client Development Manger at Protocol National, explained, “You don’t need a teaching qualification in order to take Employability Training classes, so it is ideal for anyone looking to gain experience in teaching or make a difference to their community whilst giving their income a boost over the summer.

“People should be aware that it’s not the easiest job, but for those that have the passion, dedication and drive to inspire others the roles can be extremely rewarding and become a real vocation.”

Employability Training courses are designed to give jobseekers the best possible chance of securing work, covering elements of the employment process including creating a CV, completing application forms and interview techniques as well as giving guidance on voluntary work and managing money Even though a teaching qualification is not compulsory, a background in advice, guidance, training or youth work would be beneficial.
