USE YOUR SKILLS AND TAKE A NEW DIRECTION AT AYLESBURY COLLEGE
As redundancy numbers climb and job vacancies fall, Aylesbury College is offering skilled professionals a much sought after opportunity to find work and put their knowledge to use in a new environment. A drop-in session on the 29th April will explain the opportunities and benefits of working part time in Further Education as a lecturer or NVQ Assessor and allow people to find out firsthand about on the job training, development and qualifications on offer.
The event, run by Protocol National, a company that supplies lecturers and NVQ Assessors to over 250 FE colleges across the country, is designed to give interested individuals more information about the roles available and how these can fit around current commitments to provide a boost to income and a new use for existing skills.
There is currently a demand for lecturers and assessors in a wide variety of fields ranging from Construction to Beauty to Business, and Protocol National Business Development Manager Ann Biggins says the range of opportunities available makes working in further education an exciting prospect.
“The wide range of opportunities on offer, plus the large degree of flexibility that is associated with roles in further education, are attractive factors to a broad range of skilled professionals.
“Teaching qualifications can be achieved once working in a role, which can advance personal career development, an attractive prospect for all those interested in starting a new career or taking their existing career in a new direction.”
The event will focus on how a career in lecturing and assessing within further education holds extensive benefits to those looking for a new career or part time flexible work. Roles provide rewarding work and a healthy work life balance, while offering a boost to income and a new challenge.
Ann added “Not all work is based within the college, with the very nature of assessing meaning this often takes place in the workplace. This is why skilled professionals are ideal candidates, as they have the knowledge and experience to teach and develop student’s education using a hands-on approach.”
The event is being held at Aylesbury College, The Atrium, Oxford Road, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP21 8PD between 1pm and 7pm on Wednesday 29th April.
