GET BACK TO WORK AND HELP OTHERS DO THE SAME
Employability Training classes at Tyne Met College have been proving so popular that more people are urgently needed to teach the courses and help get job seekers back on their feet.
Now, following the Government’s commitment to re-skilling announced in the Budget, demand is expected to rise further and the college is working with Protocol National, a company that provides Lecturers and NVQ Assessors to over 230 FE colleges across the country to try and meet this increasing need.
Marie Graham, Client Development Manager, explained, “Employability Training covers things like job applications and preparing for interview, which are skills that a lot of people find they need to brush up on, especially if they’ve either been out of work or working for one employer for a long time.
“The Chancellor’s announcement that everyone under the age of 25, who has been out of work for 12 months, will also have access to this sort of training is great news for job prospects in the North East and is bound to increase demand further.”
The college is appealing for individuals to work around 15 hours a week delivering the training to candidates. While teaching qualifications are not essential, an understanding of the structure of NVQs is required.
Marie added, “Patience and good communication and motivation skills are also an advantage as well as an ability to enthuse and inspire people to get back to work.”
As the roles are part time, they are ideal for fitting around other job or family commitments and provide a rewarding way to boost your existing income.
