Principal’s win in prize draw to benefit students

Warwickshire College student association funds were boosted when the college principal’s entry in a draw won first prize.

The draw was organised by Protocol National, the UK’s leading provider of part-time lecturing and assessing staff to FE colleges. As a client of Protocol the college was asked to take part in a market research survey to help the firm evaluate its service and review client feedback, and principal Ioan Morgan filled in the survey.

As an incentive to clients to return the survey, there was a prize for the first drawn out of the hat to win £750. Ioan won and decided to donate the money to student association funds.

Protocol National Chief Executive Philip Harrison travelled to Warwickshire College’s Leamington Centre to present the cheque. He said: “We did a national survey for all the FE colleges we work in and there’s over 300 . To give a valuable boost to a college’s student fund is a great way to say thank you for that feedback.”

Ioan Morgan said he hoped the money could be used to make a difference to students.

Warwickshire College Student Association president Zoe Pulling, who is studying a Foundation Degree in Equine Business Management at Moreton Morrell, said: “I think it’s a really nice gesture which will benefit us a great deal and we will spread it as far as we can.”
