Thursday 17th September 2009
One Day Seminar: Protocol National, Castle Marina Road, Nottingham NG7 1TN
Event code: CLC060

Who Should Attend
A one day event for Clerks to College corporations.

Overview
Ensure your college adheres to the standards introduced by the Nolan Committee and learn how to practically apply the Nolan Principles to your college corporation in this interactive one-day event.

The second report of the Nolan committee in the mid-1990s introduced the principles and standards expected of holders of public office. The recommendations of this report provided the cornerstone principles that today underpin the values, expectations and requirements for such as a code of conduct, the declaring of interests and for setting the highest standards of behaviour.

This event is not just for new clerks. The seminar will use a range of delivery styles, including scenarios, case studies and group work to explore the practical application and requirements.

The day will provide delegates with an opportunity to engage in debate and discussion with a leading practitioner in the field of college governance on topics such as:
• The Nolan Principles
• Codes of conduct and of ethics
• Register of Interests
• Managing conflicts of Interest
• Gifts and hospitality
• Standards of behaviour
