A seminar for teachers, advanced practitioners, Heads of Department and managers responsible for improving teaching and learning practice through peer observation and reflective practice.

Overview
This event will focus on equipping tutors with tools to reflect on their own practice and the skills to use these reflections effectively to promote improvement in teaching and learning. It will also explore best practice in using reflection to improve teaching and learning.

Content covered includes:
• Identifying how reflective practice can promote improvement
• Using various frameworks for reflective practice
• Making the most of peer observation
• Working with others to reflect by giving and receiving clear feedback
• Focusing on solutions that improve learners’ experience

The day will be interactive to encourage dialogue and development of skills.

Deborah McVey
Head of Observe and Improve
Deborah has an impressive reputation across the learning and skills sector. Following significant experience in FE and private training Deborah has established herself as a highly regarded consultant and popular and influential trainer. She has inspection and quality improvement experience in Colleges, Work Based Learning Providers, Adult and Community Learning, and Offender Learning Institutions. Known for her dynamic and engaging interpersonal skills and ‘down to earth’ approach, Deborah’s training sessions and presentations are much sought after. She has been an inspector with OFSTED since 2002.
