This event is ideal for anyone involved in improving the planning and delivery of learning, such as advanced practitioners, quality managers and teacher education staff, teachers, assessors, group tutorial facilitators and additional support staff.

Overview
This interactive event includes activities that equip teachers with the skills and knowledge to plan and deliver creative, engaging and challenging learning sessions. It also aims to alter perceptions about the purpose of lesson observations, focussing on learners. The session will include:

  • Exploration of excellence in teaching and learning
  • Consideration of the impact of teaching and other factors on learning
  • An update on key aspects of the Common Inspection Framework in
    relation to observing teaching and learning
  • A lesson observation and judgements on teaching and learning

Deborah McVey
Associate Head of Observe, Protocol National

Deborah has an impressive reputation across the learning and skills sector. Known for her dynamic and engaging interpersonal skills, Deborah is a popular and influential trainer and consultant. She has been an inspector with OFSTED since 2002.
