DATE: Tuesday 13th December 2011 (One day seminar)
Event code: CLC133
VENUE: Protocol National, Castle Marina Road, Nottingham NG7 1TN
Who Should Attend
This one day event is suitable for experienced observers, senior tutors, quality and senior managers from colleges and learning providers.
Overview
Government and funding agencies increasingly demand that the education we deliver secures progression to meet the needs of employers and communities – an emerging shift in focus from statistical organisational outputs to more tangible learner outcomes.
Concurrently, the 2009 Common Inspection Framework places an increased expectation on developing a broader range of skills for our learners. Tutorial provision is critical to delivering this enhanced skills agenda and observers need to be confident in identifying outstanding tutorial delivery when they see it.
This interactive one-day event will include practical opportunities for delegates to:
- Explore what outstanding group and individual tutorials look like under the 2009 CIF. View new footage of great tutorial practice!
- Evaluate the effectiveness of tutorials in developing learners’ broader skills, knowledge and understanding against the CIF Outcomes for Learners
- Evaluate the effectiveness of approaches to equip learners with appropriate E&D and Safeguarding knowledge and understanding through group and individual tutorials
- Share best practice in strategies which motivate and develop independent learners
- Network with other observers, tutors and senior managers
- Put the questions you want answers for to our current Ofsted inspectors and quality improvement specialists
