Who Should Attend
A one-day event for Principals, Vice Principals, Finance Directors and other senior leaders looking to develop HE provision in FE colleges.
Overview
Protocol National is offering Colleges the timely opportunity of participating in informed and leading-edge discussion regarding the new Higher Education environment defined and shaped by the White Paper. The purpose of the conference is to enable Colleges to understand the new context and how they can take best advantage of new opportunities.
With the new fee environment, it will be paramount that Colleges ensure that their position in the Higher Education market-place is not just protected but developed. The key to success lies in the further development of distinctive qualifications which embrace both Higher Education and high order vocational skills. The ability to present and brand a ‘College product’ provides a means of growing income for individual Colleges. At the same time, shifts in Hefce funding mandate that Colleges have to develop a robust means of thriving in the new HE market. Part of the necessary answer will be the extent to which Colleges can command enhanced fees. This Conference will address directly the issue that increases in fees will be sustained significantly on the basis of offering new and distinctive courses to the market.
The Conference will provide a balanced diet of keynote presentations by leading figures in Higher Education and the Colleges’ sector with breakout sessions enabling participants to have in-depth discussion around particular themes.
The Conference will introduce comparisons with College development and vocational Higher Education in other countries. Experts in funding issues and validation and quality systems will move the debate from compliance to grasping the opportunity of achieving activity and income growth. International opportunities will be discussed. And a key feature of the day will be inputs from prominent Colleges with significant HE and whose activities are re-shaping the nature of HE in Colleges and across the country.
