The Association of Colleges The AoC was established in 1996 by Colleges themselves as a voice for further education and higher education delivered in colleges at national and regional level. We are proud to support the aims of the AoC and have been the main sponsor of the AoC’s Finance Directors, HR Directors and Annual Conferences for three years running. These conferences provide space and time for college managers to interact and discuss their needs and requirements with us. We strive each year to create an element of theatre and excitement to these events. We have teamed up with several highly recognised groups and personalities to help illustrate current issues in the FE sector, including the Honda Formula One Race Team, Aston Martin Race team, celebrity chef Aldo Zilli and Apple Computers. Each year, we help bring the conference theme to life.

The Network for Black Professionals (NBP) The Network for Black Managers (NBM) was set up in 1998. Its purpose is to address the under-representation of Black staff in the FE sector, particularly the small numbers of managers, senior staff and principals. The Network exists to raise awareness of race equality issues in the learning and skills sector and seeks, through its activities, to develop and support measures that raise the numbers of black staff at all levels in the sector, and positively influence the experience of all learners. The Network recently changed its name to the Network for Black Professionals (NBP) in order to reflect the wider focus of its work. As a major supporter of the Network for Black Professionals, we sponsored their 10th anniversary Gala Dinner. Peter Daley, Protocol National College Leadership Services Director, is also a member of the National Steering Committee of the Black Leadership Initiative, highlighting our commitment to the diversity agenda.

The Women’s Leadership Network is for women who hold or aspire to leadership and management roles at all levels in the further education and skills sector. It was established in 2007 as a successor to the original Women’s Network, to raise awareness of women’s issues in the FE sector. As sponsors of the 2009 Annual Conference, Protocol National fully support the aims and objectives of the WLN. At the conference Peter Daley, Protocol National College Leadership Services Director, delivered an inspirational talk on ensuring equality of opportunity in selection and recruitment.
